How are words counted with Chinese / Japanese?
Each CJK character counts as one word. Latin words are split on spaces and punctuation. The CJK total is also shown separately.
Does “ignore syntax” remove link text?
No — link and image labels are kept; URLs and markers like # / ** are removed.
How is reading time estimated?
About 200 words per minute, rounded up. Treat it as a rough guide for mixed content.
