Frequently Asked Questions
Privacy, drafts, what runs locally, and how to use mdworkbox.
Is my Markdown content stored on your server?
Most tools — including Markdown to DOCX — process everything locally inside your browser. Your Markdown text never leaves your device. If a future advanced server-side PDF export is enabled, temporary upload will be disclosed on that page and uploaded content will be deleted right after conversion.
Do I need to register an account to use these tools?
No account, login or registration is required. All core tools are free to use without signup.
Which tools run on your server instead of my browser?
Core converters, cleaners, generators, DOCX export and preview tools run fully locally in your browser. Advanced server-side PDF (if enabled later) will be clearly marked on the tool page.
Will I lose my draft if I refresh or close the tab?
Editor drafts are saved locally in your browser's localStorage. Your work will be preserved after refresh. Clearing browser storage will erase local drafts.
Does mdworkbox support Mermaid diagrams?
Yes. Mermaid diagrams render live inside the Markdown editor and preview panel.
Is mdworkbox free? Are there any limits?
All core features are free. We may add optional premium features in the future, but the basic Markdown tools will remain free.
What Markdown flavor do you support?
We follow GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM), with extended support for Mermaid diagrams.
Can I use mdworkbox for commercial work?
Yes. You may use the output from our tools for personal and commercial projects.
